Web video outdoors on a summer evening
Photos from previous Pier Screenings by James Yu
The NewTeeVee Pier Screenings summer series is a live extension of NewTeeVee.com, showcasing online video technology and content in an outdoor movie screening format. Selections of the best web videos from the Pier Screenings website will be projected on a large screen on an outdoor pier in San Francisco. Join us for the first Pier Screening in our four-part summer series.
THEME
This month's topic is PILOTS. Please send us the first episode of your online show, whether it's been picked up or not, and our panel of judges and live audience will vote on whether they'd like to keep watching. We welcome all genres of shows.
SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO!
This year the editorial team behind NewTeeVee and NewTeeVee Station will be choosing the finalists to be shown at each Pier Screening. Each event's attendees (both in person and via live streaming) will choose the winner by text message vote. If you'd like to enter, please use this submission form.
PRIZES
To start out, the first event's winner will receive a 1 terabyte harddrive. We expect to add more fabulous prizes in the next couple weeks.
FOOD & DRINKS
Refreshments will include beer and movie theater fare. (Think popcorn and candy.)
In the spirit of an outdoor screening, dress warmly. It can get cold near the bay!

NewTeeVee reports on the business of online video, monitoring the spread of broadband as it tears down traditional hierarchies that obstruct content creators from reaching their audiences. We cover everything from content delivery networks to next-generation media players, stupid cat videos to independent filmmakers, and venture-backed content startups to old guard media companies testing the online waters.
